i am 22 after all

assalamu'alaikum,

kita adalah satu jasad yang terbentuk mengikut persekitaran. sebab tu bayi dikatakan ibarat sehelai kain putih yang suci. apa dan bagaimana persekitaran itulah yang membentuk personaliti kita.

based on theory by Erik Erikson, there are 8 stages of psychosocial development. kita semua akan tempuhi setiap peringkat ni, bezanya sama ada kita berjaya atau gagal di setiap peringkat. sudah tentu, bila kita berjaya tempuh, personaliti kita yg terbentuk tu akan jadi personaliti yg berkualiti. nampaknya, sesi tutorial pagi td memberi impak yg besar kepada sy kerana ia menjadi entry for today. hehe

okay, apa 8 teori tu?

1. trust vs mistrust (birth to about 18 months)
2. autonomy vs shame & doubt (18 months to about 3 years)
3. initiative vs guilt (3 years to about 5 years)
4. industry vs inferiority (5 years to about 13 years)
5. identity vs confusion (13 years to abt 21 years)
6. intimacy vs isolation (21 years to 40 years)
7. generativity vs stagnation (40 years to 60 years)
8. integrity vs despair (abt 60 years to death)

so, basically, parents play a huge role! to make sure that their children will pass all the stages.

contohnya, peringkat yg pertama. inilah peringkat yg paling penting. pada tahap ini, baby sgt bergantung to their caregivers. the presence of parents is very important. when feeding the baby as the example. the baby just able to cry if he/she got hungry right? baby cuma tahu express kehendak dia, iaitu dia lapar and should be fed. kalau ibu dia tiada, the baby will develop the feeling of mistrust in his/her self. dan sebaliknya, if the baby pass this stage of psychosocial development, he/she will feel safe and secure in the world.
